Online Income Tax payment using NetBanking

Hello readers, this tip is about how to do the Online Income Tax payment using NetBanking. This is best suited for guys who didn’t pay some tax amount through their company.This might be helpful for those who joined a new company, not @ APRIL 01

Steps to be followed :

  1. Go to the Income Tax site above.
  2. Click on the “CHALLAN NO./ITNS 280 (payment of Income tax & Corporation Tax)”
  3. On this page choose Tax Applicable as “(0021)INCOME-TAX (OTHER THAN COMPANIES)”
  4. Give your details including “Permanent Account No”
  5. Choose “Assessment Year”, note that this is Assessment Year and not Financial Year
  6. “Type Of Payment”: (100)ADVANCE TAX  or (300)SELF ASSESSMENT TAX: This depends on for which year you are paying the tax. If you are paying tax for current Financial year select Advance Tax (for example, if you are paying before 31-MARCH-2011 for the FY 2010-11 or AY 2011-12). If you are paying tax for a previous Financial Year select Self Assessment Tax (for example, if you are paying after 31-MARCH-2011 for the FY 2010-11 or AY 2011-12)
  7. Choose your “Bank Name” where you have online banking, so that you can pay your taxes
  8. Click on Proceed (located at the bottom of the page)
  9. Once you have paid your taxes, Income tax department will issue you a receipt.

Check your PF balance

You can check your PF balance from the site :   http://www.epfkerala.in/ Go to the menu :  “ My Epf Balance ” .  This will lead to the url :  http://www.epfindia.com/MembBal.html Select the EPFO office where your account is maintained and furnish your PF Account number.You will be asked to enter your name and mobile number. The given mobile number will be recorded along with the PF Account Number. On successful submission of above information, the details will be sent through SMS to the given mobile number.
